Into The Forest

"It seems as if we are all appetite, as if a human being is simply a bundle of needs to drain the world. It's no wonder there are wars..." (135).
Jean Hegland, Into The Forest.

In relation to the book, this quote represents human existence in the world. Also, it shows that Eva and Nell are running away from society because of it's greed and nonsense. Why are we here? Will human existence eventually destroy the world? In this case, yes, they will. Human's fight for silly reasons. They take too much from planet Earth and don't give anything in return. This is why they are living in a forest around no civilization or electricity. The human world around them is falling apart due to greediness and less important superficiality. I can relate because I see that people are so close minded in this modern time. They only concentrate on making money and making more money. They don't really see the bigger picture and they lack common sense. I guarantee most people at any university couldn't point out Darfur on a map or they couldn't tell you what goes on in Chechnya. They only care about earning green pieces of paper with former president's faces on them.

In the end, I was hoping they would stay in the forest like they did. I am glad it was kind of a dead end ending for they represent human beings for who they really are. They wont suck the Earth dry of all it's resources and pollute the air. I think about it sometimes and honestly, I think human existence will cause the end of the world.

Arizona's new law

In my opinion, Arizona should be allowed to boot illegal immigrants out of their country if they want. They are so close to the border that it would be better for Americans because there would be more jobs available for U.S. citizens. There are some aspects that are messed up though such as any latina/o getting pulled over because of their race but I guarantee, it would make Arizona and the U.S. a better and safer place. Another reason is, lots of drugs are coming across the border everyday. Drug cartels in some areas even run the border patrol. All the cocaine coming from central and South America has to come across the border somehow and who else will bring it over other than illegal aliens trying to earn some money. This is ruining people's and families lives. Also, they have rights such as money given to them by the government that they don't deserve. Eventually the U.S. will have to really crack down on illegal immigration so why not start now?

Public colleges: anti bias rules

An issue came around about at UC Hastings college of law. The problem was they wouldn't let homosexuals join a Christian group. Well isn't it true that gays can't be Christian? If a gay person was to join the group anyways, wouldn't they feel out of place? They probably had an incident in the club where a homosexual was arguing about everything and they got fed up. I mean, UC Hastings is located in San Francisco, the homosexual capital of the world. They should come up with a new word for "gay" anyway. Gay is a word for happy and society doesn't see it that way anymore

I feel like even though it might sound wrong or some people might disagree with me, this institution should do what they want to. They should take a vote within the club. Afterall, homosexuality isn't allowed within most religions. The club is a group for christians to come together and gather facts and opinions on religion. It's not a speech and debate club.

LIES

Hey everyone, this is my first blog. It might take me a couple of times to get used to it.

But anyways, I never lie. *cough
The truth is, everybody lies. Everyday, every hour, every second. Not really but we lie too much. Sometimes we have to lie. For example, one time this girl cut her hair and it looked awful. She asked me how it looked and I told her she looked great. I pretty much made her day because she gave me a big hug and smiled. Even though I lied, it wasn't a problem because I boosted this girl's confidence so she didn't have to be so self conscious.

Lying is what makes the world go around. Unless it's a lie that is really awful. Like when my mother asks me if I took the garbage out. I always give her the same response. Hell ya! Then later she comes home with ice cream and sees the garbage hasn't been taken out. She pulls one of those drill sergeant numbers and makes me do push ups until I pass out. Not really, but it gets ugly.

Hope you thought my blog was full of humor and my point got across to you!
